Lake Mary

It is nice to live in the big city and have the mountains so close to us. On Saturday Nettie and a group of her coworkers decided to go hiking up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Lake Mary. Here is a group pic of all of us before the hike.

It started to sprinkle at the very first of our hike. We were glad it only lasted for a few minutes.

We found some big boulders back in some trees and decided it was a great place to take a group pic.

This hike was pretty steep. We decided to climb this boulder and show everyone what kind of superwomen we really are.

We had to walk in a stream for a little bit so we stopped to take a picture.

As we were hiking we ran into people that kept telling us that there was a moose at Dog Lake. We were going to go to Lake Mary but after hearing about the moose we decided to take a little detour to check our this moose. Below is a picture of the moose. The picture doesn't do it justice but we were to scared to get any closer. But it was a huge moose!!

The hike was very petty. I had to take some pics of the scenery. Here is a little waterfall we saw.

Here was a look out spot. It was soooo very very pretty!!!

We finally arrived to Lake Mary after stopping to take pictures every 10 minutes. I think it took us a hour and half to get to Lake Mary and it was only a mile hike. Here is a picture of Lake Mary our final destination.

We had a little picnic at Lake Mary. Thanks Mary for making us all PB&J sandwiches they were soooo YUMMY!!!

Nettie and I had a lot of fun with Nettie's coworkers. They are so fun and hilarious. We are excited to go hiking with them again soon.

Happy Fourth of July!!

The Fourth of July was one busy day. There is nothing like being in good old Soda Springs on the Fourth of July. Our day started out at 7 am. Summer, Nettie, and I walked the 5k this year while Bill ran the 5k. Here is a pic of us girls before our long walk. Hopefully next year we will be able to run it :)

Bill ran the whole 5k and then ran back to walk with us and take pictures. He caught up to us a little after we passed the 2 mile mark. I'm glad he found us so he could take pictures.

After the 5k we drove home and got ready real fast for the parade. Here us girls are waiting for the parade to start.

I had to take a picture of the Cardettes. Nettie and I use to be Cardettes and had to march in the parade. The good old days.

Our home ward had a float this year. My dad is in the activities committee and so he was over the float. Here is the float my mom and him put together. We missed Dad sitting by us watching the parade, but he had to pull the float.

After the parade they have activities in the city park. Nettie and I found the jousting and had to try it out. Well in the picture below I knocked Nettie off her step and she came after me and pushed me off mine. The funny part is I totally did a flip and actually landed on the grass. Dad was a little slow in getting the picture of me falling to the ground because he was laughing so hard.

We haven't been golfing all year so we beg Dad to take us on the fourth of July. Here we are snuggling up in the golf cart.

The golf course was full so we had some time to play around. Nettie told me to lay down and be the ball so she could knock me into the water.

I had to get a picture of Summer and Bill's puppies. They are sooo cute. They still have two boys left so if anyone wants a puppy let us know.

We all gathered in the back of my Uncle Alan's truck and headed to the fireworks.

Here is a picture of our cute little cousins. After taking the picture they wanted to see it. When I showed it to them they said it looked like a pizza :)

My cute grandparents came for the fourth of July this year. It was fun to have them there.

We had everything setup when this big dark cloud started to roll in.

The wind picked up so we ran for the pavilion. Here we are hanging out until the rain stops.

It was down pouring.

It cleared up and we were able to watch the fireworks. It was freezing cold but the fireworks were awesome.

We had another great fourth of July. Thanks Mom for all the yummy food. We love coming home for your yummy cookin!!

Marlies's Wedding Reception

Saturday our old roommate Marlies from BYU-Idaho got married. She has been living in Texas the past 2 year so we were excited she got married in Utah so we could go to her reception. Here are some pics of the reception.

We were all roommates up at BYU-I. Toni, Autumn, Marlies, and Nettie. We sure did have a lot of fun in Club 209.

We got to see a lot of our old college friends. Little Matt was in town he is living in Washington DC. We were so excited to see him at the reception we haven't seen him for awhile.

Big Matt and his wife Jo and son Braden also came. Little Matt and Big Matt were our FHE brothers back at BYU-I. We could all tell funny stories about each other. Like getting stranded at Big Judds on Little Matt's bus or running out of gas on our way to the movies in Idaho Falls with Big Matt.

Ryan Spencer was also there. We met Ryan through Marlies. They grew up together in Chicago. He would always come over for velvetta mac and cheese and have girl talk with us.

They had all the single girls come out on the dance floor to catch the bouqet. Toni, Nettie, and I were hoping to catch it so it would maybe be our turn next :) Guess What she threw it towards us but over our heads. She must have been doing some major bench presses :) Maybe the next reception.

We always have a great time with Little Matt. He is so much fun and sure brings the best out of all of us. He asked me to dance and from this picture you can tell he was sure showing me a good time.

Nettie loves skipping around Little Matt. I think she watched The Proposal to many times last week and thought she was Sandra Bullock chanting around the fire but instead Nettie is chanting around Little Matt :)

The little boys at the reception must have thought we were beautiful because they kept giving us these roses. We decided to take a pictures of us girls.

Our BYU-I group is getting bigger as everyone is getting married. Here is a group pic of the new addition to our BYU-I group. I can't believe Marlies the president of Big Matts fan club married someone taller than Big Matt!!!!

Cowabunga Bay

Draper opened up a new water park this summer called Cowabunga Bay. Nettie and I have been wanting to go and decided on Saturday to go and hit up the water park.

It was a lot of fun. They have a lazy river and then nine slides that are all connected together. You can't climb up to a slide without getting wet. It is like a giant playground for young and old. They have buckets filling up and dumping on you while you are in line. They also have water guns and hoses that you can start having a water fight with people. I think we got in some water fights with some little kids, but it was a blast and made us feel young again. Here is pic of us young ones :)

They have giant buckets that fill and and then dump tons of water on you. We had to try this out and also get pics of us doing it. So the next few slides is of us getting drenched by the bucket.

There we are. We survived. Britni was so excited she had to cheer for us :)

The slides were also really fun except for the major wedgie at the end. But by the end of the day we figured out how to not get to bad of a wedgie :) Here are some pics of Nettie and I coming down a slide.
